Parallel Journal is a personal journaling app. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

What we don't do

• We don't use any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. The app only uses Apple's own system frameworks.
• We don't collect, sell, or share your data with anyone. We don't have servers of our own that your journal data passes through.
• We don't require an account or sign-in to use the app.

Where your data lives

Your journal entries, partners, and photos are stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, synced through Apple's CloudKit private database associated with your own iCloud account. This is a private database by design — only you, signed into your own iCloud account, can access it. The developer has no access to your journal content, whether stored locally or synced via iCloud.

Face ID / Touch ID

If you enable app lock, biometric authentication is handled entirely by iOS/macOS on your device. We never see or store any biometric data.

Photos

Photos you attach to entries are selected using Apple's system photo picker and stored the same way as the rest of your journal data — locally, and synced to your private iCloud database. They are never uploaded to any third-party service.

In-app purchases

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We don't receive or store your payment information.
